MARCOTRAN AND TMT CREATE AN SSS LINE BETWEEN SANTANDER, FINLAND AND RUSSIA:

The Zaragoza transport Group MARCOTRAN has created, along with TMT- the subsidiary in Santander of the TRANSFESA group – a new Short Sea Shipping line (Comro), that will operate between the port of Santander and the port of Kotka in Finland, every week of the year. This is a RO-RO line operating on a weekly basis, with a transit time of 5 days, that the two companies will run together for both industrial goods and refrigerated products.

The aim of this new line is to be able to carry out haulage operations between countries such as Spain, Portugal and Morocco to destinations such as Finland and Russia, offering a competitive alternate to the road.

Major hauliers have already shown their confidence in this new line that will help to relieve the scarcity of trucks to these destinations in certain periods of the year. The new line has been in operation since 5th November and the participation of both ports, as well as that of the ship owners UPM Kymenne, has played a decisive role in its launch.
